  1. Hello,
I have had nothing but problems with later versions of ATI MMC software. I would like to go back to using MMC 9.2 but when I go to ATI's website for previous version that have it, it's listed under Windows XP, but not for Windows XP Media Center. Does anyone know if MMC 9.2 works with XP Media Center?

Thanks for any help in advance.

I currently have the Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 operating system. I used to have a PC with an ATI All-In-Wonder card and ATI MMC software.

In my opinion, Windows Media Center works better than ATI MMC, but that's just my opinion. Therefore, if I had Windows Media Center, I would not be searching for ATI MMC.

There are some devices and software that work with Windows XP, but not with Windows XP Media Center Edition. Linksys WMA-11B Media receiver comes to mind. It could be that ATI MMC will not work with Windows Media Center.

    You probably mean 9.02.
There is no version "9.2" available, not supposed to be.

Most recent is 9.13, very bad version, avoid it.

I use Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 with GBPVR v0.96.12 instead. I also uses Win-TV PVR-150 (4 of them now) on the HTPC I've built that's networked into 4 Media MVP (networked media devices) connect to 3 TVs. The 4th MVP box is connected to Liteon 5101 DVD Recorder to dub from recorded MPEG2 media that uses a program called Comskip to auto-skip commercials.

I've been using GBPVR since 2004 last year built another system to handle all the tuner cards, I could hit 5 of them. Yeah you could use 5 Win-TV PVR 500 which would be 10 tuners instead of 5.

What I have is an AIW 9600 and liked using MMC 9.02…worked great with XP. What I’m trying to find out is can it be used with XP media Center. If not, what would be the best capture application to use which has the ability to schedule recordings with best quality video & sound. I’ll been using MMC for years and like it (especially videosoap).
If MMC 9.02 can’t be used then perhaps I will have to try GBPVR v0.96.12.
Let me know your opinions on this.

  7. Thanks Lordsmurf,
I'll try loading and see what happens.
    P.S.
Thanks for your site….I have learned a lot from it, and have recommended it to other AIW card users.

MCE works fine, I just wanted to use the ATI Remote Wonder 2 and I'm still working around that. Guess I'll be using 2/3 remotes, oh well.

Maybe I'm gulten for punishment, but I like ATI's software and I don't think Win DVD is THAT much better for DVD playback, I use both and depending on what I'm playing WinAmp looks great too Full Screen.

Of course thats on this BS 17" monitor I might replace in the next 8-10 days...

  9. Hello,
Finally was able to get MMC 9.02 working with Microsoft Media Center. All seems to work fine except the scheduler option. When I schedule a recording it records for the duration of the time I specify, but then gives me an MMC.EXE error and says the program must close, asks if I want to report the error to Microsoft. I select not to report the error. The ATI MMC closes and doesn’t save the scheduled recording.
    Anyone have the same problem?
