Which mode should you use to rip a DVD using DVDDecrypter, File, IFO, etc? I've tried File with all the default options but Nero gives an error when tryng to burnit (something about it couldn't sort the files and will probably not play). I'm now trying using the IFO option, but I'm really not sure what I'm doing!!!

    Any help would be appreciated.

  3. Nero can burn ISO and File,IFO is used for editing.
If the DVD is DVD-5 just use ISO read->ISO write.

I'm trying to burn an 8GB movie, I can't use any shring tools as the DVD will not play in one of my players.

I used the File options and left all the setting on default, then burnt with Nero 6.3... but when I try and play it all it seems to do is either show the FBI splash scrren or a short Macrovision clip.

Just like you were told in at least one other thread...a "shrunk" DVDR (as you put it) is no different than a DVDR ripped with DVDDecrypter just so you can keep your region code. You can still make a DVDR with a region code with DVDShrink.

You need to step back....take a break...and start reading about exactly what region codes are.

Are you planning to burn a dual layer disc since your original DVD is 8gb? Are you certain your vehicle's player will accept dual layer discs since it also needs a disc with a region code?

If you are not planning on using a dual layer disc...and you are going to run those 8gb's through Nero......you will then most likely be using Nero Recode to "shrink" the 8gb down to a single layer disc....and Nero Recode is DVDShrink....the same person created BOTH programs and they are almost identical.
