Hi all,
I have been looking at the above noted burner (A-Open DUW1616L) at Costco here in Canada and noticed here on the board, that under the DVD Writers info that the OEM is a Lite-On. I also noticed at this time that there were only 2 comments on this DVD burner, one good and one bad... which is not a good comparison.
So I have been looking through the forum to see if I could find the Lite-On version to see the comments on that burner as a comparison and also to see what media it has problems with.
Any help would be appreciated.
BTW,
This DL burner is pretty cheap ($60.00) and within my budget at the moment. Also, if it is crap the nice thing about Costco is that they will pretty much take anything back.

Not all of SONY dvd burners are made by LITEON. The SONY 820A is a rebadged BENQ 1670 drive. Check out the SONY/LITEON forum at Cdfreaks.com to ask about the AOPEN DUW1616L.
