I am trying to edit out commercials on a movie I have. When I read the Premiere Pro classroom in a book, it taught me how to edit seperate videos (video1a.wmv video1b.wmv etc) instead of editing just one plan video (video1.wmv). Do I need to "split" my videos before I edit out commercials or is there another way? If so what is that way? (I know it may be easier to do with other programs but I'd really like to learn in Premiere Pro). Thanks alot!

Did you get to the chapter with Mark in then Mark out?
Simplest way to do it is with the razor tool and ripple delete from the timeline, but you should learn the preview window if you want to get to the next level.
