    I'm trying to open a RAR file but have hit a problem. I get this window and can't think what I'm supposed to do next. Any help please? BTW, I don't have a disc.

    i think its looking for that file cfcdm110.r00, do you have it ?

    Well you need it in order to extract the file. So unless you can find it or find some par files, you're basically screwed.

    There isn't an easy solution really

    Without that missing file you won't be able to get RAR to extract that archive correctly as it needs all the files to build it

  7. You basically have an archive that is split into smaller chunks. If you don't have all the chunks (which evidently you don't) it can't extract any of them.

    That's not exactly true. You can extract "something" by ticking the keep boken files box in winrar, but it won't be the complete file.

  9. True, that was an overly simplified explanation. Whether you can get anything useful out of it depends on what you have in it. If its a movie for example chances are one little chunck missing will make it unplayable.

    Thanks guys for your responce. I have now discovered that the problem was caused by my mistake of not opening a couple of other winzips first. Now that it can find the volume it works ok. Your advice helped me to to get my act together.
