  1. Has anyone used these disks? Media code is MXL RG03 and they are supposed to be 'professional quality'. If so how good is the printable surface, as good as Verbatim, RiData? I bought some regular Maxell disks and was disappointed with the printable surface. They were hub printable but the centre ring above the plastic was a lot lighter than the rest of the disk.

Just got a 50 pack in a retail looking cake box. Printing is just like the newer TY's. Does not take ink well. Black prints light. Inkjet printing surfaces have gone down hill in the last year. The burns do not scan as well as TY or Ver. My supplier did not recommend them either. Overall I would stick with the TY and not get these again.

  3. Thanks videobread, however the disks you show are not the ones I was talking about. The ones I was looking at were the plus series - see picture.

I saw the ones you show in my local computer store but they were made in Taiwan and in a previous post I had, I was advised that they were not good media. What was the media code for these?

  5. Thanks for the info. You mentioned that your burns did not scan very well, this media code is supposed to be good media so I am surprised to hear that.

I have a Pioneer burner and don't put much value in any of Nero CD-DVD Speed quality readings/scans. TY gives me a better scan and that means something. What I don't really know. I'm really spooked on media. The Max and TY both burn great. I'm really spooked on media. Still I will stick with the TY. Just my choice. I buy the best I can get and my opion is that the TY is better.

I hope Maxell gets around to making 16x Plus Series DVD-R. I got a 5 pack of MXLRG04 from the UK via Ebay and these discs are great, much better than TYG03.

Just noticed my TYG03 say "DVD-R16X for Professional" on the label.
