Never saw a 3-pin mini-DIN on a video card. S-Video needs 4 pins. Maybe this is composite?

Is the connector for 3D glasses?

One end goes to the video card and the other
    end to the 3D glasses?
A man walked into his son's room and said..."Son, that will cause blindness."
The boy said, "Dad, I'm over here."

I thought Mr. Dweezel was attempting humor with the 3D glasses comment.

This begs the question how 3D glasses can work off of 3 wires.
    Anyone know?

I always attempt humor but it doesn't usually work!

Seems like he might be trying to connect the 3D jack to his TV or
    perhaps a VCR.

Perhaps some people hook up the 3D glasses when they are gaming.

I should imagine the 3 wires merely switch the left or right eyepieces on or off in sync to give you a 3D effect when looking at the monitor

Here's a BIG list of everything about 3D glasses, the way they
work, how to build an interface, etc!

WARNING.... A lot of pop-up adverts on that website.

    Interesting read.

The manual for the 3Dlabs Wildcat VP880 Pro 256MB Video Card describes the port as Vesa standard stereo sync. No mention is made for composite video support.

Why would it need composite video support? It only needs a stereo (visual not audio) signal to switch the left or right eyepieces on or off. Half the time the left eye will see the computer monitor, and half the time the right eye will see the monitor.
I bet it can induce some killer headaches....

Hmmm, well this kinda sucks... maybe you guys could recommend a good 5.25' "internal" capture card (one that fits inside a drive bay, instead of in a pci slot?) That has both S-Video/Audio in and out?

I don't think there is such a thing... at least one that doesnt require the installation of a PCI card, but I could be wrong.

[edit: well, mabey if it was firewire or USB, but I would avoid USB]

do you have a link so we might have a better idea of what you are talking about? I am still at a loss at how the device would actually connect to the computer, since the 5.25" bay is not a connection in itself.

How did the Turtle beach device connect to the computer (motherboard)? USB? FireWire? Add-in PCI card?
