Are you sure videos are playing jerky or they ARE jerky, instead?

Since English is your motherlanguage, why don't you try to learn AviSynth? There are a lot of information in English on the web on how to use AviSynth. This application is very poweful and script language is definitely not difficult AT ALL. AviSynth has scripts to aplly filters on your videos as well as plug-ins for achieving the quality you want.

I do use av synth occasionally, but when i want to watch a film i prefer wmp!.And the videos worked fine before, this seems too be to do with something that i added or removed. Also when im converting avi or mpeg file to dvd format, the audio is out of sync,Hilarious but now annoying.I use vso to convert then dvd shrink to compress.

-Sure, AviSynth is a post production editor and frameserver.

If you let me suggest you do something: download and install Media Player Classic; it is much better than wmp (really superb). See if you get the same problem loading and playing the file there.

Some people like certain (simple) applications to convert their videos from AVI (Xvid/Divx) to DVD (MPEG2). Some of these applications may cause these problems.

Why don't you try the "real thing" such as TMPGEnc Plus? There are some guides around here on how to fix audio sync problems in TMPGEnc. Use the search and you ll find what you want. TMPGEnc is one of my favorite applications, it is a terrific encoder and has some tools to help you edit VOBs, Mux and Demux files, etc...
