I don't really regard this as a problem because its easily fixable but somewhere in my process of encoding and authoring anamorphic video material using DGIndex to demux, HCEncGUI to encode, and DVDAuthorGUI to author, I find that when I load the resulting DVD files into Nero to burn, the stats say that the video type is letterbox/pan-scan which would then play fullscreen on some players if their setup is set to pan and scan. Does this flagging happen in HCEncGUI with the encoding or in DVDAuthorGUI with the authoring? I'm assuming the latter.
I say its easy to fix because I can just open up the authored files in IFOEdit and modify the files by removing the "automatic fullscreen" checkmark (or whatever its called) and leaving the "Automatic letterboxed" selected. This letterbox/pan and scan option seems to be obsolete. I know there are still DVD players with that setup option so if its set to letterbox then it will ignore it but one of my older players even when set to 4:3 letterbox will switch to 4:3 PS with these discs if I do not change it. I say it seems to be obsolete because my older player has not done this with many recent discs suggesting its not flagged anymore in discs to do so.

At a guess, it is a DVDAuthorGUI setting. It is an authoring setting.
