i have recently tried ripping a few dvds to vcds i use smart ripper, dvd2avi and tmpg, works fine, but when i burn it on to a vcd in some sections of the movie where the movement of the picture was smooth on the original dvd , it tends to sotp and start nad in some parts movement seems slower, i was wondering if there is anyway around this or if nyone has the same prob, also would it work better if i jut mae it a svcd?
thanks to any one that can help

how about before you burned it to VCD?...when you played the original dvd rip (before you burned it) did you also have those "slowed" scenes?
if the pre-burned rip didn't have those slowed scenes...then it's the burning that caused it...perhaps crappy CD-R discs....maybe burning too fast (try slowing down the burn speed), etc.. -
have you found a cure for the problem of the video stop and starting. if so can you e-mail me to tell me how its done as im having the same problem.

I had the same problems at first with VCD. But its OK when I encode as SVCD. Then I used Sefy's SxVCD templates and its been working fine so far. Try it. They should be available for download on this site.
