In DVD2AVI in the statistics window, the video type is FILM. Shouldn't it be NTSC? Or does it matter what that says?

DVD2AVI will report NTSC if your source is 29.97fps interlaced (from TV). It will report Film if you source is 29.97fps Telecided (from a 23.976fps movie source).
What you should do is enable "force film." This is produce a 23.976fps source your to to work with. If you are using TMPGenc load the VCD_FILM or SVCD_Film template [this will add the 3:2 pulldown flag].
Enabling force film will both remove the interlacing and produce a higher quaility encode. -
After reading your reply, I said outloud "Wow! Thanks!".
What about XVCD's? I checked the compatibilty list on my new DVD player, and it will only play VCD & XVCD. Can I use the XVCD template?
Thank you,

ofcourse if your DVD Playr supports Xvcd then it would be okay go download Sefy's XVCD Template and while your at it Grad mine too and i hope you were succesful on burning your movie last night Tracey-san
