Converting DVD To A CD

I wish to convert a 20 min DVD onto a CD and can be play on a DVD Player. It is a such a waste of the DVD Disc , especially it only occupies 20 min of playing. How do I go about it . Thanks.

You have a few options, but it depends on what your DVD player will play. There is

1. MiniDVD - basically a dvd spec structure on a CD. Not many players play these

2. SVCD - see What is SVCD (top left corner)

3. VCD - see What is VCD (top left corner). Low res, low quality - use as last resort

4. Raw mpeg. Some players will play raw mpeg1 and 2 files straight from disc. Try this with an RW to test it out.

5. Divx/Xvid. If your player is certified, then this becomes an option.

If you look at the price of a DVD blank vs a CD blank. It is a waste of time to convert the video.
