I tried using SubtitleCreator but I guess it's not totally idiot-proof.
I don't know how to use it. I have a .sub file and I need to convert it to .sup so that svcd2dvd can use it with my .avi file.
It asks for .IFO file -- which I don't understand. Why would I have .IFO file if I need svcd2dvd to convert .avi to all those files including the .IFO...
Any help or guide for the idiots?
Thanks.

ok:
Start SubtitleCreator
Do File->Open text subtitles:
Then save:
SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

It asks for frame rate after opening a text file and selecting a .sub file.
The avi is 25 fps, so I chose that and click 'Continue' and I get
'Error reading subtitle number 0'
Is this normal or something went wrong? -
Can you email me the sub file so i can take a look?

Well you need to have text sub files to work with subtitlecreator. Try the following to get what you need.... http://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=en&lr=&safe=off&rls=GGLJ%2CGGLJ%3A2006-07%2CGG...se&btnG=Search

is there a program that can create text files from the binary subs file? only reason i ask is that the subs are not available for most films yet the binary ones are.

Try Subtitle Workshop or others in the subtitles cat in the Tools section.
