I used VirtualDubMod to add subtitles to my video file. When it was finished the movie was working fine. The video and audio and subtitles were together. Then I used Windows Movie Maker to join my movie files. But later when I was watching it the audio wasnt together with the video. The subtitles were still there. But just the audio and video wasnt together. Can anyone tell me how I can fix that ?

join with virtualdubmod instead if you really need to join,
open first file, select file->append, select video->direct stream copy and then save as a new avi.

Thanks Baldrick for helping me. But it only worked for like the first half of the movie. Then in the second half the sound wasnt together with the movie. Any other suggestions on how to do it so the sound and video is together?

What kind of sync loss? Is the sync off the same amount throughout the video? Or does it gradually get worse as the video plays? The first type can be fixed by changing the audio offset. VirtualDub can do that. The second type is usually caused by the audio and video being different running lengths. You need to shorten or lengthen on or the other.

If they both play fine by themselves, I'd guess the start of the second video sound or the end of the first video sound has a gap. Since you are using VirtualDub, the problem likely isn't MP3 VBR audio, that causes a lot of sync problems.

Did you use VirtualDub to check for bad frames? That can cause sync loss also.

Correcting sync loss can be quite difficult at times.

I used VirtualDubMod to join two files. At the beginning of the movie it was playing fine. But when it got two the second part of the movie the sound was out of sync, it was faster than the video. So I dont know how you're suppose to fix that.

    Option One

Encode the files sperately so you have two mpeg files - one for each half. Author these onto the same track with tmpgenc DVD author, removing the chapter point that is automatically inserted at the start of the second half. Et Viola, a single movie with either no pause at all, or one no worse than a layer break.

    Option Two

I have done this before successfully, but I can't guarantee it. Do your append in virtualdubmod, then save the combined audio out as an uncompressed PCM wav file.

Use avisynth with a DirectShowSource to load the two clips as one (use the + to append) and encode just the video with your favourite encoder. Author the video and audio back together and check for sync.

It sounds complex, but it's pretty easy to do and it has worked for me on the few occasions I have had to join clips.
