  1. Hi yet again all, here's another noggin scratcher.

I'm using iMovie to assemble a DVD I'm making. When I'm exporting everything to iDVD, for some reason the clips that I'm using to make the DVD are no longer seen when I click the "media" button. I want to insert some of the clips in the background of the menus... Is it because I used them with iMovie I can't use them in the background at the same time? How can I stop this from happening?

I believe everything in iMovie now is in a .pkg
(Package) file/container, and the only way to access the
media is to when you click the media button, is to first
    go to the Finder (Desktop),
hold down the Control key as you click the iMovie package
(.pkg) file you navigate to in a Finder window and choose
Show Package Contents from the menu that appears,
and this will show your files. Then, copy out the files
you want ( option click drag)
them to another folder, making copies you can access.
    then,
return to iDVD, and click the media button, and navigate to
    that folder.

Dan S. can confirm this...I have only read about these changes
in iMovie made in version 5 and later; in the past the highest I
used was version 4, and it wasn't like that ( putting everything
into a .pkg file, everything prior had its own seperate
file/folder structure). But IIRC, that is how it is now.

  3. Actually, these clips that I'm using are all in the iMovie Project file format. What I don't understand is why some clips I can see and others I can't...very weird.

  4. If I understand your post correctly... iDVD only see the directories you have set in the iDVD preferences. The other thing you can do is export out of iMovie directly (full format DV) then just drop that file in to iDVD.
