ok here is what i do and i get really bad quality dvds. i burn a show onto a dvd+rw from my dvd recorder and than i put the show on my computer and i edit out commercials using nero vision and and do this so i can get about 4 or 5 30 minute shows on a dvd and then i burn them onto a dvd-r so i just use the +rw so i dont have to waste discs but when i burn them and play them on a dvd player the quality is really really bad but right after i burn them onto the +rw disc that i erase later the quality is very good before i put it on my computer. how can i get the same quality AFTER i edit out the commercials. thanks

use a mpeg editor that doesn't reencode like tmpgenc dvd author (edit, author, burn), mpeg video wizard dvd (edit, author, burn) or videoredo (just editing).

Are you using TMPGEnc DVD Author ?

That is the product you want to be using ... not any of the other TMPGEnc products.

yes that is what i am using but can someone explain how to do it. i am very new at this. i record shows to a dvd using my dvd recorder and then i put the show on my computers hard drive and i am wondering if this program will keep the good dvd quality because nero vision made the quality very poor.

It will import the video and audio without changing it at all.

Just use the ADD DVD VIDEO option and select the FOLDER on your HDD where you ripped the DVD disc (that came from your DVD recorder).

It's actually very simple my friend you just have to "play around" with it a bit.

It's about as straight forward a program as you can get when it comes to DVD authoring software.

    P.S.
Just be sure that you used DVD Decrypter to rip the DVD and that you used FILE MODE and use the default (select all files).
