    The firmware was released on May 11, 2006. What will happen if I download it? Will it imrpove playback of DIVX files or will screw up the player?

    download the latest firmware and the current firmware,
    Burn both to a disk as specified by the Mfr.
    Install newest firmware.
    Test every possible combination , especially things that were problems on the old firmware.
    If use is unaccepatble re-install old firmware.
    report back here, and send report to liteon.
