Is there a simple process for this? I've tried DIKO and tmpgenc exp. the first puts out a 29.97 file but when played through my media client (MediaMVP) the aud/vid are out of sync. putting it in gspot the pic rate is still 23.97 but the fps is 29.97. i suspect this is due to the dgpulldown. tmpgenc exp doesnt get past the analyzing file stage and stops.
my work around has been to encode with DIKO and then author a bunch of VOBs with tmpgenc dvdauthor. then i have to encode back into mpeg with xilisoft dvd ripper. this puts out a playable file through the mvp and is both 29.97 pic rate/fps in gspot.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Doesn't the mediamvp support 23.976 with 3:2 pulldown? it is standard dvd.
Is it in sync if you play with a software dvd player? -
it is in sync when viewed on the PC with VLC
as to the mvp playing that fps, i'm not sure, but when transcoding avis on the fly to mpeg 23.97 avis get out of sync. i'm not sure what fps is being encoded by the hauppauge app but the resulting output is out of sync.

I've done some conversions in Procoder 2, from 23.976 progressive to 29.97 interlaced. Procoder adds back frames by interlacing, looks great.
