    Ok i am new to this . what settings do i use in vegas 6.0 to auther a dvd so that it will play in most dvd players (tv dvd players)

    Hate to break it to ya--Vegas does EDITING, plus a little encoding. Doesn't do Authoring.
    To do that you want something like DVDArchitect (sister to Vegas, sometimes bunded with Vegas).

    You could start by choosing the correct output templates when MPEG-2 encoding in VEGAS that bear the name "DVD ARCHITECT".
    In this way, when you've learned how to AUTHOR a title in ARCHITECT (very easy, BTW), you will be working with the correct elements to AUTHOR a DVD and make ARCHITECT create a "compliant" project
