  1. I finally got the time to convert some of the series I taped on VHS to SVCD. Don't get me wrong, I don't wanna do it in realtime.

I got the ATI AIW128, MMC 7.1 with 4.13.7192 drivers. For capturing I use ATI TV 7.1. I intend to capture MPEG2 (as "MJPEG" - I frames only), but I have a slight problem. The captured mpeg2 files are too fast, although @ 25fps, and full of audio clicks! Seems to be a problem with sampling rate. The funny thing is that captured AVI files are 100% OK, no speed problems, not audio glitches, I tested 10 minutes without sync problems. Now I wouldn't have a problem if TV 7.1 would let me choose a x*576 resolution for AVIs, but as most of you know, it doesn't. Another problem with ATI TV is that it doesn't let me change the codec properties, not too much of a problem as I use HuffyYUV, but annoying nevrtheless.

So, did this problem occur to you? Please lemme know!

    PS: Almost forgot my system:

OS - Win98 (only for capturing = clean install)
    CPU - Athlon XP 1500+
    Ram - 256 DDR
    Sound - Terratec EWS88 MT
    HD - IBM DCAS (7200)

  2. Upgrade to MMC7.5 and then see what happens. But make sure you have the latest drivers from ati website.

  3. You're lucky, MPEG2 capture doesn't work at all with my AIW 128 16mb even with the MPEG2 codecs installed. BTW, I've tried all the 7.x MMC. Seems like I might have to go back to Win9x - then I can use Vdub to capture.
