    I've recorded a television show using a standalone DVD Recorder. I would like to convert the DVD to a .m2v, with the .ac3 audio file included. Or any other format (audio file included) that can be imported into DVDSP.

    What is the easiest way to do this?

    Thanks.

    Nothing to convert. DVD is already MPEG video and the audio.

    In the case of the DVD recorder, MPEG-2 and either AC3 or MP2, more than likely.

    Just decompile your source, and then re-author it.

    Thanks Smurf. A couple of questions;
    1. What happens if there are multiple VOBs. Will I have to convert each one separately in YadeX? And resplice in FCP? Or can YadeX convert all VOBs into one .m2v, and .ac3 file?

    2. Where can I find YadeX. I know there used to be a site to download it, but I can't find it.

    Thanks.

    You could use MPEG Streamclip, Cinematize, MPEG2 Works or PixeVRF Browser to save the .m2v and ac3 streams from each title set on the DVD. There probably are other options but those are the ones I have.

    Dang! The copy of YadeX that I was able to find is a PAL version. Converted the whold VIDEO_TS folder into a .m2v and .ac3 files, but into PAL. Guess I should've gotten the hint with it being in French.

    Anyone know where I can locate an NTSC version of YadeX? I knew I shouldn't have deleted it from my system when I did.

    thanks.
