Is it out of sync the whole way, or does it drift out of sync ?

If it is out of sync the whole way, try virtualdubmod. Open the avi (if you get a warning about VBR mp3, hit No). Go to Streams -> Stream List. Right-click on your audio stream and select Interleaving. The bottom section Audio Skew Correction has a field in which c you can enter a delay (+ or -) to adjust the audio. Enter a number, in milliseconds. Click on OK, the OK again. Play the video. If it is still out, go back and change the delay.

Once you have it matched up, make suare that both video and audio are set to Direct Stream Copy and save a new avi.

  3. What if it changes throughout the video?

I tried your way, and it worked great...but then later in the video, it was off again.

So, is there a way to cut up the video in several parts?
I could then fix the sync for each part, then join them back together easy enough.

What you have is audio drift , not a simple "it's out by 1 or 2 second's all the way through" .

Virtualdub can not correct this without alot of work .

Hyper cube transcoder is your best chance at correcting such audio drift .

  5. Right...so there is no way to like, every 10 minutes or so, cut the video.

Edit the audio in each part (how it was described above).

Then join them back with virtualdub(this part I already know how to do)?

Its about a 30 minute video...and the steps that I know how to do are pretty quick...the cutting of the video is the only one I don't know.
