    I would like to know how to convert a DVD to an AVI file. I use a Mac G5 2.3 dual, running OSX 10.4.6.

    I don't have a mac but try handbrake. It's supposed to dvd to avi.

    Check the tools under the "LISTS" category on the left of the screen for more options <-----
    Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

    Popcorn can do DVD to DivX (which is sometimes what people want when they say AVI... an AVI is a container for other video types).

    Thank you. I am testing Handbrake at the moment, but I will note that. I get a little confused with all these video types.
