  1. Hello!

I am planing tu buy my first DVD Recorder, and need commends or meanings about these:

    Sony GX220
    Lite-On LVW-1105HC

Does anyone know of the movie quality from the Sony GX220 is better then the movie quality from the Lite-On LVW-1105HC?

I mean is the result from a recording from TV in an Sony GX220, better then in a Lite-On LVW-1105HC?

And this is my second question:

I have put in my LG GDR8163B PC DVD drive an Platinum (Bestmedia) DVD-RW and my drive could read it.

But I donīt know the record source from the DVD-RW.

I was even able to edit the DVD-RW with this software:

    TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress

    the DVD-RW.

I like to cut the commercial spots from an DVD-RW, that I recorded in this DVD Recorder:

    Lite-On LVW-1105HC

    My question is:

Can my LG GDR8163B PC DVD drive read Platinum (Bestmedia) DVD-RW, that where recorded in this DVD recorder?:

    Lite-On LVW-1105HC

    Friendly Greetings from

    Moe Perry

  2. Can anoyone write which DVD-RW DVDs are compatible when I record a film from TV on a Lite-On LVW-1105HC.

The DVD then also should be compatible for my LG GDR8163B PC DVD drive , so that my drive can read them, to edit (cut commercial spots out movies)

I also have this drive in my PC:

    BENQDVDDDDW 1620

I have a liteon 1107HC ($99 in Best Buy) and I'm loving it. Before thios one I make the mistake of buying a Cybermedia DVR-1600 but after 2 days it began to malfuntion. I went back with my mind made up to upgrade to something with a hard drive and able to read dual format and dual layered. After looking around in the store I found that they didn't have anything with a hard drive and setle for this cheap unit that alleged to do dual format and dual layers. Well it lived up to its promeses and the cuality on my TV at least is great ( Don't record more that 3 hr on the disk) as long as you follow the guides on this site.
My media are cheap DVD-RW that I bougt 10 for $8. I gess I got luky that all the disk worked! And I do my editing eather with Cuttermaran ( Awsome freeware progarm, easy to use too. ) or TMPG MPG Edit. I could use too womble mpeg editor or Magix editor but these are for more ower editing other than just cutting & joining.
To author I use TDA or one of the GUI's for DVDAuthor.

These are a great set up.

I don't know if you read it but in one post there was a comment that said that capturing with a dvd recorder gives you same of better resolution that PC's. I completely agree if you take in consideration that is faster to set up and dosen't tie up your resourses.
    I want to believe....
