  1. I have been working on a home project recently in which I ripped a commercial dvd (my own), de-multiplexed it in MPEG-VCR, then worked on the mono track with Soundforge, in an attempt to turn the mono into pseudo stereo.

Everything was fine up to this point, but when I come to multiplex the video and audio together again with MPEG-VCR, there is a very noticeable lip-sync problem.

I have tried to correct this with the AV Sync function, but this makes no difference.

I don't know how many times I have tried this now, but it is still way out, from the beginning!

Is there a better programme to multiplex these files? I have also tried TempGenc MPEG Editor, but it's just the same.

    What am I doing wrong?
    Please help

You need to use some MPEG2 editor to combine sound and video in the timeline so you can shift tracks as needed while checking for playback sync. One example is Womble MPEG2 Wizard (Vegas, Premiere, don't know if Ulead Video Studio will allow for for that...)

  4. Thanks InXess, but I can't afford the likes of Vegas or Premiere.
Will take a look at Womble...

There's a free 30 day trial on Womble website and at his price range there's is no better native, frame-accurate MPEG2 editor period. Also check MPEG2VCR (trial).
