I have a VHS tape that looks like I have it on pause when it should be playing. It freezes then my vcr stops. It does it on two different vcrs, so I don't think the problem is with the vcrs.
Is it fixable?

Jammed tape maybe? You can unscrew and open them (careful).

Try ff and rewinding the tape a few times before playing.
Keep an eye on the counter to see if there are any slow-downs or hang-ups.
