I'm about to install the LaCie DL DVD +/- RW Internal Drive with LightScribe E-IDE in my PM G5 Dual 2.5GHz case. I'm doing this so I can backup my Home DVD movies and have nice laser etched labels on the backup media. However, I find that the LightScribe DVD media only comes in Single Layer DVD format. So my question is, how do I go about splitting up my Home movie DL DVDs to span across 2x SL DVDs from LightScribe.
I do have the full version of Toast 7 Titanium.
Thanks... and regards Barry Sharp

First thing you want to do is get ffmpegx after you have this take your DL DVD and copy the video TS folder to your hard drive and then convert it using ffmpegx to say dv or something similar (make sure quick time can understand it). Now if you want to split it across two lightscribe DVD's you will have to use quicktime pro and export both halfs of the movie and then burn these fles to your two seperate DVD's.
But are you really concerned with quality because you can just copy and burn the video ts folder using toast or if you want only extract a certain part of the DVD using mac the ripper.
