They are lightscribe dvd burners. Thay take a while to burn pictures and can only be used for special media for labelling (Lightscribe media which cost slighly more than standard media).

And No, you cant burn colour, they are monochrome only.

If you want colour, buy a cheaper burner, and spend the savings on a disc printer and printable blanks.

Lightscribe drives cannot burn colour. As I mentioned, they are monochrome only.

If you want colour, do as guns1inger mentioned.

Not good for the price. If you're not going to use lightscribe, I would get a better drive at a lower price.

You can get a Pioneer or NEC for around £25.

If you are happy with sillouttes, the lightscribe is probably cheaper in the long run, however it does restrict the quality of media you can use. I don't know if TY make lightscribe discs, for instance.

Inkjets are expensive to run, however you can get colour and detail on your discs if necessary, so you have greater flexibility. You also have a much wider choice of media available to you.

I've got a Canon i865, and I went to an ink refills place, dropped a small initial outlay of $265 down and now refill my own cartridges. If I were to buy the same volume of cartridges in-store it would have cost me over $3000.
    If in doubt, Google it.
