I am a new user and I have searched this site and the forums for the answer to the question below. It seems many people on this forum have asked the same question without receiving a specific answer on how to fix while using Nero. Below is the e-mail I submited to Nero support. When I receive an answer I will post it to this site, if no one is kind enough to answer first.

Adam

I recently ordered the following:

Vers 5.5
MPEG-2/SVCD

My computer
P4-1.8 GHz 768mb ram
XP

When I make a SVCD from uncompressed .avi files it plays the first 5 seconds in my player with no audio and then stops. I know from various sites and message boards that my player (Pioneer DV-444) is compatible with SVCD. And I have also found that this problem is common with Nero 5.5. Some people have said it's for the following reason.

"This player is really slick. I did quite a bit of research, because I really wanted to be able to play VCD and SVCD movies. It plays most very good. I played an SVCD at 2300kbps audio 224kbps and had some problems. It kept freezing up. by reading other comments here it looks like I might need to drop the audio lower and it might work. "

"Plays my SVCD's made with VBR 2300kBit and 128 KBit audio correctly.
Plays my XVCD's made with CBR over 2000kBit and 224 KBit audio not correctly. Some frames skipped."

"Sound stucks sometimes playing an SVCD with 2600 kbit/s video and two 224 kbit/s audio tracks. Same video bandwidth and two 128 kbit/s audio tracks runs fine "

How do I adjust to 128kbits audio or do you have another fix? Thanks for your help.
