NeroAPI was not initialized...

I am getting this error when I try to go to into the Preferences and Settings in SVCD2DVD 2.1 I have registered and I have installed the latest download and rebooted but I keep getting this error.
"An unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will shut down immediately.

NeroAPI was not initialized or was unsuccessfully initialized! Make sure that all relevant properties are filled in. Check " LastError" property for possible errors."

This happens every time that I try to go to Preferences and Settings on the SVCD2DVD 2.1 Menu bar.

If I understand correctly I should be able to go into this and change to two pass encoding.

Do you have Nero installed and if so what build?

The latest Nero v6 build is 6.6.1.4. Can you update to that to see if it solves the issue?

The latest Nero v6 build is 6.6.1.4 I installed this version and svcd2dvd works now ( i don't get that specific error anymore) .

Good news.

For everyone else:

Nero v6 build is 6.6.1.4

Thats the version i have and SVCD2DVD v2.1 was built against that and it is confirmed that it works with this version and above (i.e. v7+).

I was not that excited to install Nero 6.x. I have CopyToDVD, DVD Decrypter, ImgBurn, and Sonic Record Now! Deluxe installed. Have had installed Nero in the past with these applications and they did not appear to get along. So far so good after the install of Nero. SVCD2DVD appears to be working now have not used SVCD2DVD to it's fullest extend yet.

You can also use dvd decrypter to burn the dvd's

The problem is/was that I could not get into the Preferences and Settings without getting this error, NeroAPI was not initialized. Now that I installed Nero 6.x I am able to get into Preferences and Settings and change the burning software used. Otherwise I was unable to get into Preferences and Settings without Nero 6.x installed.

ok. Well CopyToDVD, DVD Decrypter, ImgBurn can be used too. My guess is that because you had Nero on your PC S2D thought it was installed properly (which was not as you uninstalled it).

Never had Nero installed on the machine that I had installed S2D on, so it was looking for something that was not there. I did have Nero CD-Speed installed but not Nero 6.x until I ran into this little glitch. S2D runs great now and that is what I was looking for.

I don't have any Nero software installed whatsoever, and I get this same problem. I do not WANT to install Nero to get S2D to work...it shouldn't be necessary. What options do we have? Is there some sort of registry setting to allow the Preferences option to be useable. As it is S2D is not very useful, especially if you want to use it primarily for the conversion options and not the DVD burning itself.

i just instales the newest update to svcd2dvd and i am getting this error is there away around this with out using nero thanks.
