CD-R & CD-RW discs

Being a beginner to this please can someone help. When I look at the list of DVD players and it says some can play CD-R and CD-RW discs, what information on these discs can it play. For example, I download movies from the internet using Morpheus and can play these back on my PC using Windows Media Player. Is there a way I could play these on a DVD player through my TV?

Yes. You need to covert the video to a VCD compliant Mpeg.
