  1. All of my backed up DVDs are kept in slim jewel cases. I've looked high and low for a way to keep them so that they can be "flipped" through so the front of the DVD is visible, as in a folder of some sort. To those of you who use slim cases, how do you store them?

  2. on a shelf (like for cds). I then keep them in alphabetical order (well not super anal, more of just going by the letter itself).

Put them on the shelf with the front facing forward. A waste of space IMO though. You might be better off using a shoe box and flipping through them that way if looking at the disc is what you want to see. For mine I use spine labels on the slim-line cases and file the cases in alphabetical order.

The boxes I use are much like a shoe box - of the proper size.

Store them sideways on book case type shelves made for plastic cases (about 6 1/2 " deepand 4' high and wide). To identify them I store them numerically. I make a 1/4" by 2" label by cutting 1 1/2 "x4" avery labels I fold the 4" label in half use astrait edge and a razor knife to cut thru the label but not the backing . I number each of these 1/4" mini labels. after the number I add the title of whatever it is then attach this mini label to the side of the slim case at the hinge side. I use Antenna Movie Catalog to keep track of everything. I origionally did the alphabet but it always took too much moving around of the disks to keep them in alpha order. Also it hard to remember when your looking for something what it's title is. AMC it has a find feature so you can search for what your looking for without rumaging thru the disks themselves. An added advantage that I have recently discoverd that by doing them numerically a numerical secuence of 50 or 100 would be the disks for a specific brand. If you start finding disks in a sequence going bad it might be time to redo the whole sequence while you still can.

I use those multi-colored, double-disc, slim maxell cases. They work really great. The way they are positioned though i can't see the label side of the discs, i just put a generic label with the names written on them.

As for storeing, i just plain ol'stack them. No particular way just as long as they are safe.

  10. I haven't responded in a while because I've been moving.

I was in Office Max the other day and found what I was looking for, but they're so expensive. Fellowes (sp?) makes transparent folder sleeves for jewel cases, but I can't seem to find them online. When I have the time I'll go back and write the part number down. Hopefully they can be found for less online.

I just got a Brother P-Touch and label the edged with that. Trim 'em down and they fit nicely.
