I'm was wondering is there any easy way to get the programs off my Direct TV HD tivo box onto a DVD (no conversions)? What format & info is being transfered to my TV through the HDMI cable. Is it possible to plug the HDMI cable into my MAC (with some type of card .....) and burn onto a DVD.
Thanks

Getting DirecTV TiVo video files onto a Mac is pretty difficult and requires "hacking" the TiVo and using ethernet. Little to no information is out there on how to do it, due to legalities. I've looked into it myself. I pretty much gave up. Your best bet might be a stand-alone dvd-recorder connected to the TiVo.

Wrong forum aside, high definition video (frame size, some frame rates, and definitely the bitrate) is out of spec for DVD-Video. There will be conversion involved, so suck it up.
