i get this error (pic above) when i open DVD files sometimes (not all the time). at first, i thought it was the encoders i was using (ConvertXtoDVD and WinAVI) but ive tried converting other files to DVD with these programs and TDA opens the output DVD files from these programs most of the time.

anyone know why this error comes up and how to avoid it?

It is because of your converters - certainly ConvertXtoDVD can produce this error from time to time - and the solution is pretty simple. Delete the IFO and BUP files, then open the vobs in IFOEdit and create new ones. TDA will them open your video.

sweet, thanks. worked like a charm.

edit: ok, now i have another problem. it only creates IFO/BUP's for the VTS selected. how do i create VOB/BUP's for the entire DVD?

Not sure what you are asking. I believe you have to create the IFO for each titleset seperately. You can also load the video_ts.vob to create the video_ts.ifo file

well i tried processing each VTS title seperately, but it just replaces the IFO/BUP files in there when i do the next VTS title. i tried doing them in seperate folders, but that doesnt work either. im trying to open them with TMPGEnc DVD author... the first one opens fine, but the other dont work.

ok, i got it finally. i had to process them in seperate folders, and rename the VOB files because IFOEdit didnt match the IFO/BUP files with the same name as the VOB files. for example, for VTS_02_1.VOB/VTS_02_2.VOB, IFOEdit made the IFO/BUP files VTS_01_1.bup/ifo, so i renamed the VOB files to 01_1/01_2
