  1. I am trying to us tmpgenc or Vdub to convert and DV file but there are all of these things in the video that I know are not in it. Because if I open the same files in Premiere, I dont have this problem. I installed nimo thinking it might fix it, but it didnt.

Red arrows I put in cap and these gray things only appear every few seconds or more and there always in the same places, but different shapes.

    Thanks
    Chris

Corruption in the video file would be my first guess. If they appear consistently in the same places that is the likely culprit. What happens if you go through it frame by frame ?

Weren't visible in the preview window while transfering ? or did you actually play them back to test them ?

You could try a defrag of the drive and a scandisk, just to make sure it isn't your hdd going south.

I already made a DVD transfer from these files, Some parts were jumpy. So I decided to redo it. And that is when these gray things showed up. The hard drive is a 320 gig. Could take a wile to defrag, but if that fixs it would be a life saver.

  6. I was able to find the master MiniDV and redownload it into my computer, I used a different hard drive to find the same spots on play back, but not in the winDV window doring capture. It would seem to be some sort of a playback issue. Why does this stuff always have to happin to me.

Do the blocks show up in the same place in the same frames after re-transfer?
    Or do they appear ramdomly?
