I was directed to many tools here, some free, whcih you can use to play back DVD's, Can anyone recommend the best [preferably free] one for my purpose please which is, I am looking to play a Music-video DVD on my pc with the same menu options as on a standalone. Meaning, when I play the DVD on a standalone, it will play one video file after another or I can go from one to the next or previous but when I insert the DVD into the pc, a folder comes up with all kinds of file names [Video_TS e.t.c] and I have to keep clicking on one file after another to play all of the files, is there a free software that will play a video music DVD's files one after another on it's own?

In your Browser: Rightclick, choose Properties --> Automatic Replay --> DVD Movies and/or Music Files --> Windows Media Player --> Apply
    That should solve your problem.

Windows Media Player does NOT have a built-in DVD decoder. It will use one if one's installed (like with PowerDVD or WinDVD) but it doesn't come with one.

    I recommend Media Player Classic.

All you'd have to do is install an mpeg2 codec and then media player will treat the dvd as normal. I do it all the time on my pc. I have media player 10, but I don't know if that matters.

If you just need a MPEG-2 codec: Stinkys MPEG2 Codec works fine with WMP. Or if you want a player that will play about anything and has it's own codecs, VLC, as mentioned.

I appreciate you guys trying to help me with freeware software as I had asked but I think I will go with PowerDVD fellas, only $10 [Thanks for the referral] and it's extremely easy to use, I have a hard time with the "free" stuff as it's usually much more complicated than the Payware, got frustrated trying out VLC even after all that reading, downloaded PowerDVD and 1, 2, 3, that was it, thanks for the help!
