AE seems to have a problem with the tear off panels. When I tear off a panel and move it over to my other screen there are parts of it left behind on the other monitor. I think this is a video card setting, I'm using a 3dlabs Wildcat 880Pro I'm just not sure what setting??

If you have two monitors attached to your 3Dlabs card, then by default OpenGL will only be accelerated on the first monitor. Clicking on the "Dual Monitor OpenGL Options" button will bring up an additional page which enables you to accelerate OpenGl applications seamlessly across both monitors. To do this:
1.) Check the "Enable Dual Monitor OpenGL" box.
2.) Select a monitor resolution and color depth from the box at the bottom right.
3.) Check the Genlocked box if you wish to have both monitors refresh at the same rate and time.
4.) Finally choose a refresh rate for each monitor (one will be greyed out if you choose to genlock the displays.
    5.) Hit Apply

Any ideas on the card setting? I have made sure that open GL is enabled on both monitors but I still have the same problem. I thought it might have something to do with the "overlay" ...

    in windows ...

in the old days you could tweak your ini AE file ... no help there ...

you might have to switch to another vid card - you dont need a wildcat to run AE anyway (no advantage) , unless you are doing some real time 3D playback (but that wouldnt be with AE anyway directly)

a 200$-$300 nvidia card will give the same visual quality and performance with AE

have you asked in the AE forum at adobe ?

If you use maya - i can see keeping the card ... I know we have lots and lots of these (various models) wildcats and in some applications - they were non to friendly .. but for maya, SI, proE , they are the bee's knees

number of people running that card are limited

3dlabs just laid off 200 employees -- may not be much help from them either right now ..
