  1. So I have a couple CDs which I've imported to iTunes as mp3s. These include a few books on cd, and some comedians. What I want to do is merge these mp3 tracks and create bookmarks in the big long one, in effect creating an audio book. I am at a lose on how to do this, and this post is my last resort.

I have Audacity, and Switch, and am willing to get any other program neccesary.

    Thanks.

  2. When you say bookmarks do you mean chapters encoded in the MP3 file? I'm unaware of something like that being available. To do that I would just create separate MP3's and have them numbered in sequence and crate a playlist to load into the player.
Bookmarking can be done on most MP3 players as a way to stop the player and restart at the same point in the file.

  3. I don't really care if it stays an mp3, just as long as it will play on my iPod. I have a few books from Audible that have chapters, and I want to do that with the books I have on CD.

MP3 Direct cut can handle it. It can either chop by time, or you can choose the points. I believe it can even sequentially number the output files.

  5. No, I already have seperate mp3s. What I want is one acc file or whatever with bookmarks or chapters. Like an audiobook.

Then just load them on the iPod and make a playlist?

  7. Well, the thing is, with audiobooks, they don't play when you do a shuffle. Plus, they show up as audiobooks. So I want an audiobook of a few mp3s stuck together.
