I haven't used this yet put I'm trying to use it with DVD-RB cause I think it (DVD-RB) doesn't rip the dvd to your HD so I was told to use DVD Decrypter to get the DVD to my HD but I don't want the whole DVD cause some it is a waste of space. So I'm trying to understand DVD Decrypter so I can edit out what I don't want.

It does not 'edit" as such. You can choose different streams (ifo mode) or files (file mode). DVDShrink will let you edit if that's what you want. It's faster to just rip the whole thing though.

I think if you rip the whole DVD then you can do the movie only with DVD-RB

That sounds nice but with DVD they have so much stuff that just the movie isn't good enough. I like deleted scenes and sometime the making of.

So with the encoding after the "preparing" doing the encoding improves the quality of the movie for DVD-9. Right ...

    Well, I didn't understand that.
The point is DVDdcrypter does not edit anything, it only copies the disk contents to your harddrive. You must use another program to edit it. You have to rip in "file" mode, and then you will have to burn it back to a disk with a program that is not DVDdcrypter.
    Thanks Mike
