i have about 15 DVD-R disc's that really suck. I think its because the edge of the disc's are not even close to smooth. I can play 3/4 of the disc with no problems, but the rest just isn't watchable.

DVDINFO Pro reads the disc as: Yi Jhan 001 (4.36 GB)
I REALLY want to copy these disc's to a better media.

I've tried using DVD shrink 3.2 but keep getting a data error (cyclic redundancy check).

I've also tried using DVDDcrepcrypter with no luck.

Please if anyone out there knows what i can do i would really apreiciate it.

    thank you in advance.

  2. I recommend ISOBuster as your best hope. Yi Jhan is pretty bad media, so don't get your expectations too high.

Yi Jhan 001 along with SKC media are the new Longten.(Worst DVD-Rs ever) Only the latter media is worse than Longten ever was.

Just copy and paste the files. No need to use DVDShrink.

The OP indicated that they get CRC errors, which means that just copying the files through Windows Explorer won't work. DVDShrink won't work either. DVDDecrypter has the ability to ignore read errors, so you'll end up with corruption where the data was unreadable, but at least anything that could be copied will be in the end.

  7. steve-o,

I'd give ISOBuster a shot. You might also try using different DVD drives and see if one has less trouble reading it.

Also, try using a drive cleaner disc and see if that helps. Maybe it's a combination of a dusty drive and a bad disc.
