ripping songs from streamed audio, say myspace??

Most sound cards allow are full duplex, so they can record what they play back. Just set the wav playback as your source and record with your audio software. I have done this successfully with Sound Forge.

right ive tried that, but i need to install a bunch of windows.net and other things in order to use

to use what ?

Have you looked at Audacity ? Audition demo ? The tools section has a good list of audio editors that can do this. The technique is the same rregardless of tool.

No you don't. Hell, you can probably use windows sound recorder to do it. Any type of wave editing program will fix you up. What software are you using?

You could try Audacity (as suggested), Goldwave, Soundforge, Nero wav editor.... the list goes on.
