Geez do we see a pattern here? Perhaps it's because Joe Blow making 10 or 12 bucks an hour doens't want to work nearly half a day to take his wife and 2 kids to a movie..... Last time I went (about 3 years ago) it cost me over $30 bucks for 3 people...

I don't mind the theater prices. What bums me out is having to deal with kids crying, cell phones going off, general crowd noise, and the six foot five dude sitting in front of me.

Which isn't all that expensive if you compare it to other forms of entertainment. Over $60 per person just to walk in the gate at Disney, Universal, Epcot, etc- figure at least double that to spend the day if you eat or drink. How much per person to see a football which (which you can sit home and watch free on TV).

True but a 1 1/2 hour movie is hardly comparable to a day at Disney...neither is it to a football game (course this is going to depend on your tastes). Last time I went it was about $50 for upper mid level seats. But they can sell those ticksts for that price because people want them... Most stadiums are filled on a Sunday, if you want Packers tickest get in line.... it's only a decade or two wait for season tickets... :P Doesn't appear many want to pay the prices of a movie and I don't blame them. Their bread and butter is Joe Blow and Joe Blow can't afford it anymore.

Amen to that. AFAIC, Apple's iTunes Store can't start providing movies and subscription TV fast enough.

OMG.....i WISH movie tickets were that cheap around here.....6.41 would be considered to be an AWESOME deal around here, they average more like 8.50-9.00, the last time i went to the movies with TWO people it costed more in the area of 50 dollars by the time all was said and done....anyone who pays less than 7.00 for a movie ticket has no right to be complaining.........but yes, movies have definately taken a nose dive in the past few years, just in general...pretty much everything that comes out these days for the most part, i can classify in one of 3 catagories...none of them being original movies...either they are sequels, remakes, or movies that are based on true events (or at least true charecters) the last one is the only one of the three that actually makes anywhere near a remotely interesting movie, and that is being way overdone as of late.....

also, we can all be glad we dont live in chicago......last i knew, they were averaging at LEAST 15 dollars a movie ticket.....

Next year they can do remakes of the remakes.BTW imo the only remake that even comes close to being as good as the original is the 1998 remake of "The Parent Trap".

Sure it would be. But if you lived where movies tickets were 6.41 your salary would probably be half what it is now. $6.41 wouldn't seem so awesome then.

I'd imagine that takes the matinees into account too, I wonder if those cheap ass theatres are used in that as well. LAst time I went (3 years ago or so as mentioned above) it was $7.50 or $8.

They should have a discounted senior price and a inflated under 10 on anything but PG and G price to make up for it.

I don't see many movies in the theater but I do see a few a year, it IS quite pricey especially considering I at LEAST get a drink when I'm headed in. I do have to admit though when compared its not that bad.

Heck I had a friend who gave me hell about paying to play MMOs until I broke down how much I paid per hour of entertainment on average and compared it to a movie.
