    Hi,

I use MOTV 2.2.1 to produce slideshows.
I usually put together JPEGs and short movie clips taken by my digital camera in the same temporal sequence has they have originally been taken, this is very handy in MOTV.

Everything works perfect, except when I add the background audio.

For instance, say you have 3 jpgs + 1 movie + 1 jpg, I can set the audio to fade out/in whebefore/after the movie plays back.
So, at the end of jpg number 3 the background audio fade out, then the movie plays back with its original audio and finally, the background music fade in again when the movie ends and jpg 4 starts.

    The issue

At the moment the background audio fade in, the volume is very loud for a fraction of second and then immediately goes to its set level.
This is very nasty, particularly if you have a slide show with many movies

I use Nero drivers when burning directly witn MOTV, but also tried other softwares to burn but I get the same problem.

Is this a bug in the program?

    Thank you for your help

  5. I used MtoTV too. I normally don't mixed jpeg and mpeg.

If you do the two jpeg slide sequences + sound ( fade in and out ) seperately, then add the mpeg ( transcode if necessary ), then the result can be assemblied at DVD authoring process.

The issue you faced maybe have to do with how the MPEG encoder's ( MtoTV native or TMPGENC, which one did you use ? ) behavior on re-encoding the camera mpeg. I do this part outside in TMPGENC source creater.

Note : MonTV has a driving direction to their office on their web site, it it kind of funy. You should look it up.

    SingSing,

Well, the pictures are all JPGs, the movie files are .avi

To convert I use TMPGENC through MOTV, therefore everything is encoded this way.
There is only one encoding process and it occurs simoultaneously.

I can try to use mp3 or OGG instead of wav for the music files, but honestly I would be surprise if anything changes.

Indeed, I don't know what to try more

    Regards

    Hi,

I have tried to use LPCM for the encoding and also tried to use the MPEG native encoder provided in MOTV, but in both cases the problem is there.

I still think it must be a bug in the program.

    Hi all,

OK, it is definitely a bug in the program.

The background volume can be changed, on a % scale, so if you want to have a lower volume you just slide down to , say, 50%.
As a result, fading in from the end of a movie clip, it goes to 100% for a fraction of second and then adjusts itself to 50%.

If I use the full 100% background volume, there is no problem.

So, I hope that the MOTV guys will sort this out in the nxt release.

    Cheers
    Alex
