    if the specks on a DVD player say it plays cdr and cdrw dose this mean it plays VCD even if it dosent say so??

    Most of the time yes. I have seen one occation when it could read Cd-Rs but couldnt read VCDs. What a useless DvD player. Anyways find your DvD player here just to make sure. http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdlist/dvdplayers.html
