hi,
why when i carefully frame an image in my canon mv830i, do i find extra space / a margin all around it, on pc/lcd playback ... yet on a crt (hooked to dvd standalone) the display shown is what i framed in the camcorder???
is there any way i can 'rationalise' this inconsistency, please?
thanks,
ric

That may be overscan. I've noticed it sometimes when I captured with my old hauppauge wintv pvr 250. I'd see a black border around the edges on the computer but it would be perfectly full screen on the final dvd on the normal tv.
I think it may be something to do with how the computer plays back the captured digital video. You could also try zooming in on some software players or making sure the playback is set to full screen and not 16x9 if its a 4:3 video camera like most older cameras are.Donatello - The Shredder? i like this camcorder but as a m.o.r option, i guess i can't expect professional precision from it - have to bodge 'n' make do?
