Hi, I have produced various short films family occasions etc using windows movie maker (avi's). I now would like to create a nice looking DVD with menus etc. There is so much information on here that Iam not sure where to go from here. Microsoft mention sonic MyDVD. Alot of people on here mention tmpgenc, Should I use I use that to encode author and then burn. I have in the past used divxtodvd to encode and burn straight onto a disc with no menus. can I use the output files from divxtodvd with an authoring program? Many thanks

    Some guides here

But in the future, avoid wmv if "high quality DVD" is your goal. You should compress to wmv only for distribution.

On second read, you said your files are avi. avi can mean anything from a blinking pixel to HDTV. If you maintained DV format, then you have other options that are far less geekish than those above.
