  4. Thayne, I quit 18 July 2005 after smoking for over 20 years. You just need to tell yourself this is the day I quit for good.

That is a good point you make there, I have quit before and then relapsed, but I feel different this time. This time I really want to quit. In tthe past I have quit and not been totally commited, but this time factoring in my age, the cost, and heath issues I have decided this is the last time I quit smoking, and considering that it will soon be banned in all pubs over here makes even more incventive.

I think if I had smoked I would have quit by now as the cost on health, money and body odour would have hit home by now . Most people I know are slowly quitting for various reasons but it's good to see 8)

I hate dating chicks who smoke as kissing them is like licking an ashtray at times . When your pissed it's not so bad

Nicotine is a big time serious addiction. (I know, I am an addict) I may joke with the few (and I mean very few) that have quit for good, but I do see the effort and selfcontrol that it takes. Bodybuilders to celebate (SP) preist ain't got shit on an ex-smoker in the lines of will power.

I rember an old "Barney Miller" episode that had a guy in the holding cell having a nicotine fit. An ex-smack junkie told the smoker that he understood how he felt. The smoker was like, yea, what do you know?
