I use Virtual Dub and use Divx Pro 6.1 to encode. But most of the time, VDub crashes and says access violation and crashes. It says the error is divx.dll
What do I do?

Uninstall Divx and any older versions of it. Then reinstall. That may not fix it, but it's a start. If you have any codec packs installed, you shouldn't have.
I believe the Access Violation was the program getting a bad address or the .dll is corrupted. -

I couldn't find anything directly relating to that error on the web, this is about the closest: http://www.virtualdub.org/virtualdub_kb
-
I dont have a clue what it is but when I go to safe mode on my PC, the encodes work on that. For now, when I need to encode I'll just boot up in safe mode
Jagabo, please do not reply to this post. Thank you. -
Safe mode just uses the generic OS drivers. That would suggest one of your device or software drivers may be the problem.
