  1. Read quite a few posts where members have stated that there SVCD'S are nearly DVD quality, so about about a 2-10 min sample of these masterpieces pheraps you could point us in the direction of one, beacuse every sample I have down loaded falls well short of DVD quality.

  2. biffos, SVCD's (other than those 15 min per disc miniDVDs) are the best quality format. of course, SVCDs can't compare to the enormous bitrate used by actual DVDs.

    however, i think the samples u downloaded where done to sacrifice quality for less amount of discs. i usually make my rips 3 discs, rather than 2 discs like most people. in order to fit certain movies on 2 discs, the quality has to go down.

    also, the quality of SVCD gets "nearer" to that of original DVDs when you watch on the TV. the artifacts and blocks during high action scenes are much less noticable when u're watching SVCD on TV.
