  1. hello all, i'm currently deployed overseas and on our lan we use "Unreal Media Server" and they stream news and tv shows to us. i was wondering if anyone has had any experiance with Unreal Media Server ripping?
the way the videos are set up on our site is somethign like this:

    ums:\\TCP:{ADDRESS MASKED}:5119\news\2feb2006\2feb2006.avi

if anyone know how i can save this information can you please help out..

    thank you,

  2. Try NetTransport. Since you masked the adress I cann't try it myself. If downloaded file is very small open it in notepad and find a real link.
    Cann't tell it's possible don't tell anything.

  3. well, the address is within our LAN, so it wont work from outside the LAN,
if i right-click the link and goto "save target as" it tells me that "download could not complete"
as soon as you click the link, it pulls up it's own media player and plays..
i couldn't get wmp to play it... i probably didn't set it up right or something...
i did try NetTransport before though, but it didn't work.

    thanks for the reply though,

I used to use a program called 'x-file-get' (or something very close to that)
it would save some media files that didnt use standard HTTP or FTP protocols

If you don't have luck after going thru the site Safesurfer posted, perhaps check out screen capture apps/codecs -- there's one built into the free wmencoder 9 at microsoft.com, assuming you can get it to play the real video. Might want to check out the real forum section over at doom9.org.
